Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Field Service & Installation Technician to join a remote-first technical team. You will support installations and provide remote guidance to client sites across South Africa, ensuring correct setup and reliable operation of electronic systems.

This role requires strong electronics knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to diagnose issues remotely. You’ll work with on-site personnel and internal teams, maintaining detailed documentation and adhering

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in field service or installation focusing on electronics.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electronics issues remotely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clear instruction.
• Proficiency in using remote support tools and diagnostic software.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote environment.
• A relevant technical certificate or diploma in Electronics or related field.
• Familiarity with specific electronic systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical assistance for installation of electronic systems.
• Guide on-site personnel through setup, configuration, and testing procedures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic hardware and software issues remotely.
• Develop and maintain installation guides and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to schedule and manage installations.
• Ensure all installations meet quality and performance standards.
• Respond to remote technical inquiries and provide timely solutions.
