Placements24 seeks an Electrical Engineering Lead specializing in Renewable Energy to spearhead remote engineering efforts for projects across South Africa, including the Paarl region. You will lead a team of engineers, drive design integrity, and ensure successful implementation of solar, wind, and energy storage solutions.

This senior role requires extensive leadership, strong communication, and strategic thinking to shape the technical direction from a remote location.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Electronics or Renewable Energy.
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years focused on renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind).
Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects remotely.
Expertise in power electronics, grid interconnection standards, and energy storage systems.
Strong understanding of software for system modeling and simulation (HOMER, PVsyst).
Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering design and development for utility-scale and distributed renewable energy projects.
Oversee technical aspects of project lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning.
Mentor a remote team of electrical engineers, providing technical guidance.
Develop and implement best practices for grid connection, energy storage integration, and power conversion systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
Contribute to technology selection, vendor evaluation, and risk assessment.
