The ideal candidate has a track record in remote team leadership, extensive knowledge of SA transport laws, and strong data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in dispatch/logistics operations with progression to leadership
• Experience managing large fleets and remote teams
• Strong knowledge of SA transport regulations and best practices
• Proficiency in fleet management and GPS/tracking tech
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel and data reporting capabilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of remote dispatchers and drivers
• Develop and implement efficient dispatch strategies and routing
• Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations to ensure on-time shipments
• Monitor fleet performance, define KPIs, and drive cost efficiency
• Utilize dispatch software to track vehicles, loads, and visibility
• Maintain strong communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams
• Manage crisis response and interruptions to delivery schedules
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards
• Analyze dispatch data to generate performance reports and improvement actions
