Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a fully remote role across South Africa. You will lead digital transformation projects, from software implementation to process automation, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in project management, strong IT/digital transformation background, proficiency in Agile and Waterfall, and hands-on experience with Jira/Confluence/Asana/Trello.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience in IT/software/digital transformation.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall.
• Proficient with Jira, Confluence, Asana, Trello.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for digital transformation initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets with realistic timelines and resource allocation.
• Lead cross-functional, often geographically dispersed teams in a remote environment.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues with mitigation strategies.
• Ensure seamless communication among project teams, clients, and stakeholders via digital channels.
• Oversee implementation of new technologies and software solutions for successful integration and adoption.
• Track milestones and report progress, risks, and challenges to stakeholders regularly.
• Facilitate virtual workshops, meetings, and training sessions as required.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and project best practices throughout the lifecycle.
