Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a DER Integration Specialist to lead planning, design, and implementation of DER integration (solar PV, storage, EV charging) into modern grids. This fully remote role demands deep power systems expertise and a proactive, cross-functional collaboration style with engineers, PMs, and utility partners.

You will analyze DER impacts, define interconnection requirements, and help advance DERMS and grid-control technologies while keeping up with evolving regulations and market

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering focusing on DERs, grid integration, or microgrids.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV, battery energy storage, EV charging, and other DER tech.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies for DER integration into the utility grid.
• Analyze DER impacts on grid stability and reliability.
• Design interconnection requirements and control systems for DER projects.
• Collaborate with developers, utilities, and regulators to deploy DERs.
• Develop DER modeling and simulation tools to assess performance.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes and interconnection agreements.
• Support DERMS, SCADA/EMS development.
• Provide technical guidance on DER integration best practices.
• Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic assessments.
• Stay updated on DER tech and market trends.
