Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a data scientist to join its advanced analytics team in a fully remote role. You will develop predictive models for energy forecasting, analyze large datasets from meters and sensors, and translate data into business insights.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field, 5+ years of experience in energy analytics, and Python or R with ML libraries. You’ll collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to drive data‑driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on energy analytics or similar complex domains.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, ML algorithms and data mining techniques.
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deploy ML models for energy forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization.
• Analyze large datasets from meters, sensors, and market data to uncover trends.
• Design experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate business requirements into data science problems.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and analytical tools for ongoing research and analytics.
