Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Data Analyst to support mining operations from anywhere in South Africa. You will collect, clean, and analyze large datasets on production, equipment performance, safety, and resource management to inform operational decisions.

You will build dashboards in Power BI or Tableau, identify trends, and present actionable insights to managers. Strong SQL, statistical modeling, and clear communication are essential in this remote role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, CS, Engineering).
• Minimum of 3 years in a data analyst role, preferably in mining/heavy industry.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).
• Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills.
• Excellent communication to present complex data to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize mining operational data from multiple sources.
• Perform in-depth analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in production, safety, and equipment performance.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Interpret results and provide actionable insights to operational managers.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data integrity and effective data collection strategies.
• Stay updated on new analytical techniques and technologies in mining.
