Job summary

IQVIA is hiring a Data Acquisition Specialist (Remote/Homebased) to define, set up and ingest External Data Streams for clinical trials in South Africa. The role requires a CS-related degree, 3+ years in clinical data, SDTM knowledge, and strong English communication.

You will coordinate with external data providers, draft tsDTA documents, and perform UAT on data transfers to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. A remote SA-based work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in support of clinical research.
• Experience with external data e.g., Safety Lab, PK, ECG, etc.
• Experience working with external data providers in a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials.
• Knowledge of SDTM.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to define data transfer, ingestion and structure per data stream.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or structures.
• Develop trial-specific tsDTA documents documenting data transfer methods.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study timelines.
• Coordinate with external data providers for tsDTA alignment.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance for clinical programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers to ensure alignment with data specs.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms for external streams into the data repository.
