Job summary

IQVIA seeks a Data Acquisition Specialist to define, set up and ingest external data streams for clinical trials. The role supports data capture from diverse sources including labs, ECG, imaging, biomarkers, and real world data, with an emphasis on compliant data transfer and mapping.

You will coordinate with global stakeholders, ensure adherence to GCP/ICH, and translate complex medical concepts into practical data guidance while operating remotely across South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience with external data sources such as Safety Lab, PK, ECG, and biomarkers.
• Experience working with external data providers in a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements (tsDTA).
• Experience working on clinical trials.
• Experience in diverse, cross-functional, global teams.
• Knowledge of SDTM.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Plan data stream setup activities to meet study start-up timelines.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to define data transfer and structure per data model.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting requirements and methods.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs.
• Liaise with external data providers to align tsDTA.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance.
• UAT of test data transfers for data specifications.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms into CDR.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams.
