Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Remote Corporate Lawyer to join its virtual legal team. The role offers fully remote work from anywhere in South Africa, focusing on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic transactions.

You will provide actionable guidance, draft key agreements, and steer risk management for a globally active organization. The ideal candidate holds an LLB and is admitted as an attorney in South Africa, with at least eight years in corporate law and a track

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 8 years of corporate law experience, preferably in remote teams.
• Expertise in commercial contracting, corporate governance, and M&A.
• Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate law, contracts, M&A, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of legal agreements and corporate documents.
• Ensure compliance with national and international laws and regulations.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks in operations and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare opinions.
• Advise on corporate governance best practices and shareholder relations.
• Support cross-functional teams on legal aspects of projects."
