Placements24 is seeking a Remote Corporate Legal Specialist in South Africa to manage corporate governance, compliance, drafting and negotiating agreements, and advising on diverse legal matters for a growing conglomerate.

The role requires admitted SA counsel with 6+ years in corporate law and strong remote collaboration skills. You will oversee governance, contracts, and strategic corporate actions while working fully remotely within SA.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of SA with 6+ years in corporate law.
• Expertise in governance, company secretarial duties, and compliance.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of SA corporate and commercial law.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setup.
• In-house experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain corporate records and statutory filings under Companies Act.
• Draft, review, negotiate commercial contracts and partnerships.
• Provide advice on corporate governance and compliance.
• Oversee mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
• Ensure adherence to POPIA and SA laws.
• Conduct legal research and provide recommendations.
• Develop corporate policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with external counsel and service providers.
• Support ad-hoc legal projects.
