Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Corporate Attorney to join its legal team in a fully remote role across South Africa. You will support mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with internal teams and external counsel across locations.

The ideal candidate is admitted in SA High Court with 5–7 years PQE, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to managing legal risks in a global, distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 5–7 years PQE in corporate law, M&A or related field.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong corporate governance knowledge and SA company law.
• Strong analytical, writing, and remote collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with legal research databases and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute corporate transactions, including M&A and divestitures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Advise on corporate governance and compliance.
• Conduct legal due diligence for investments.
• Oversee compliance with South African laws and regulations.
• Advise on IP protection and strategy.
• Support financing and capital markets activities.
• Manage relationships with external counsel.
• Ensure timely filing of corporate documents with authorities.
