Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Control Room Operator to monitor and control industrial processes from a fully remote setup in South Africa. You will use SCADA/HMI to detect anomalies, respond to alarms, and implement control actions, ensuring safety and efficiency across sites.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, calm under pressure, and excellent communication for remote collaboration with field teams. Nights, weekends, and holidays shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Control Room operations in Oil & Gas or heavy industry.
• Strong process monitoring and rapid decision-making under pressure.
• Ability to work remote with a quiet home office setup.
• Excellent communication for remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Remotely monitor operational parameters and system statuses using SCADA/HMI.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies with appropriate control actions.
• Maintain accurate logs of events and interventions.
• Communicate critical information to field teams and management.
• Ensure SOPs and safety protocols are followed.
• Perform routine system checks and diagnostics.
• Identify operational improvements.
• Maintain situational awareness and provide performance feedback.
