About the Role Our client, a leader in the Oil & Gas sector, is actively seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Remote Control Room Operator to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute significantly from the comfort of your home, regardless of your physical location within South Africa. The operator will be responsible for remotely monitoring and controlling critical industrial processes, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance across various sites. You will be the eyes and ears of our operations, using advanced SCADA and HMI systems to detect anomalies, respond to alarms, and implement necessary control adjustments. This role requires exceptional concentration, technical aptitude, and the ability to make rapid, informed decisions under pressure. Key Responsibilities

• Remotely monitor all operational parameters and system statuses of production facilities and infrastructure using SCADA/HMI systems.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, system upsets, and emergency situations, implementing appropriate control actions.
• Maintain accurate logs of operational activities, events, and interventions.
• Communicate critical information to field teams, management, and other stakeholders as required.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols at all times.
• Perform routine system checks and diagnostics to ensure the reliability of monitoring and control systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential operational enhancements.
• Maintain a high level of situational awareness and provide feedback on operational performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Control Room Operator, Process Operator, or similar role within the Oil & Gas , petrochemical, or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong technical understanding of industrial process control systems (SCADA, HMI, DCS).
• Excellent monitoring, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure and in emergency situations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective remote collaboration.
• A dedicated and quiet home office setup with reliable high-speed internet connectivity is mandatory.
• Proficiency in utilizing digital communication tools and platforms.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational demands dictate.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa and available for remote work.
