Job summary

Placements24 seeks a vigilant Control Room Operator to join the Upington hub. You will remotely monitor and control industrial processes from a central control room, responding to alarms, adjusting parameters, and coordinating with field personnel to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.

Responsibilities include logging data, communicating status to field teams, and adhering to safety and emergency protocols while leveraging advanced monitoring technology to support energy infrastructure

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is an advantage.
• Experience as a Control Room Operator or similar in process monitoring preferred, oil/gas/chemical experience advantageous.
• Familiar with SCADA, DCS, and alarm management systems; strong understanding of industrial safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations via SCADA and DCS, respond to alarms and deviations.
• Adjust process variables to maintain optimal conditions (pressure, temperature, flow).
• Communicate operational status with field operators and supervisors.
• Log data and prepare shift reports documenting events and actions.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and emergency protocols; perform routine checks.
