Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Industrial Automation Specialist in South Africa. The role designs, implements, and supports PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for diverse manufacturing clients, all from a home office.

You will diagnose complex issues remotely, collaborate with clients and internal teams, and contribute to documentation and project planning. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in industrial automation, strong PLC/SCADA/HMI skills, and excellence in communication to support remote project

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in industrial automation.
Strong PLC programming experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
Experience with SCADA/HMI development and process control.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and commission PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for industrial applications.
Develop and implement automation strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Provide remote technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for automation systems.
Conduct diagnostics and root cause analysis via remote tools.
Collaborate with clients to tailor automation solutions and document specifications.
Create comprehensive documentation including programming logic and user manuals.
Stay updated on automation technologies and propose innovative solutions.
Participate in virtual meetings and client consultations.
