Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Construction Safety Officer to develop, implement and monitor safety programs for nationwide projects. You will conduct remote risk assessments, audits and provide expert guidance to site teams.

This role requires strong communication, regulatory knowledge (NEBOSH/SAMTRAC/OHS) and proficiency with digital tools to document incidents, training and compliance while promoting a proactive safety culture across the country.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer in construction.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk management.
• Excellent communication and remote training skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply health and safety legislation.
• Proficiency with digital documentation and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct remote safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, providing reports and corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel remotely.
• Ensure compliance with national and international health and safety legislation and standards.
• Maintain safety records and documentation including incident logs and training matrices.
