Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Community Engagement Specialist to foster constructive relationships between mining operations and nearby communities, guiding CSR initiatives from a Soweto-based social responsibility team.

You will design engagement strategies, facilitate dialogue with local stakeholders, oversee development projects, and monitor social impact to ensure responsible, sustainable mining practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in social sciences or related field is required.
• Minimum of 4 years in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or CSR.
• Strong ability to develop and implement engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement plans and strategies.
• Facilitate open communication between the company and local stakeholders.
• Identify and address community concerns related to mining operations.
• Oversee community development projects aligned with company and community needs.
• Monitor and report on the social impact of mining activities.
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with community leaders and members.
