Placements24 is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our Pretoria-based operations in a fully remote role. You will assess and manage risk for a diverse portfolio, determine pricing, and ensure profitable coverage.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in underwriting General Liability, Commercial Property, Workers' Compensation.
• Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex commercial insurance risks, including property, liability, and specialty lines.
• Determine premiums, terms and conditions based on risk analysis.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends and issues.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance to internal teams on underwriting standards.
