Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Remote Insurance Underwriter to join its expanding underwriting team. The role focuses on assessing and pricing insurance risks to ensure profitability while working entirely remotely from anywhere in South Africa.

You'll leverage data and underwriting tools to inform decisions, contribute to policy development, and collaborate with agents and brokers in a digitally driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an Insurance Underwriter, preferably remote.
• Strong understanding of insurance principles, risk assessment, and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities.
• Proficiency with underwriting software and data analysis tools.
• Exceptional communication skills suitable for a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance applications, assess risks, and determine appropriate coverage terms and premiums.
• Underwrite new business and renewals in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
• Utilize underwriting tools and systems to evaluate risk factors and make sound decisions.
• Collaborate with agents and brokers to provide guidance on underwriting requirements and product offerings.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks relevant to underwriting.
