Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Civil Project Engineer to lead transportation infrastructure projects based in or serving the Port Elizabeth region. You will oversee planning, design, and construction of roads, bridges, and highways, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

The role involves coordinating with design teams, contractors, and public authorities, with the flexibility of a remote work arrangement and opportunities for professional growth in Eastern Cape projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in project engineering for transportation infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration preferred.
• Experience managing complex civil projects including roads, bridges, highways.
• Familiarity with project management software and construction management principles.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills suitable for remote oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of transportation infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Oversee schedules, бюджета and resources for timely, cost-effective delivery.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety and environmental regulations.
• Review and approve design drawings, construction plans and progress reports.
• Conduct site inspections and provide remote guidance to construction teams when applicable.
