Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in Water and Sanitation for a fully remote role. You will design, plan, and execute water supply systems, wastewater plants, and sewer networks, applying hydraulics, water resources, and environmental engineering principles.

You will work with a dispersed team, leverage modeling software, and contribute to high-quality, sustainable water infrastructure solutions while advancing professional growth in water engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water/Environmental
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Pr Eng Tech with ECSA is highly preferred
• Minimum 6 years of experience in water and sanitation infrastructure design and management
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and CAD tools

Responsibilities

• Design water reticulation networks, pump stations, reservoirs, and wastewater facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water supply and drainage systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, specs and tender documents.
• Ensure compliance with water quality standards, environmental regulations, and SANS codes.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources for successful delivery.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders for approvals.
• Provide technical oversight during construction and commissioning.
• Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments for water and sanitation projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
