Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Civil Design Engineer to contribute detailed designs for civil infrastructure projects across South Africa from George. The role emphasizes independent work, rigorous modeling, and digital collaboration with project managers and engineers nationwide.

Candidates should hold a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with Pr Eng or Pr CPM registration, and have 7+ years of experience designing roads, earthworks, and drainage using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Bentley software.

Qualifications

BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with Pr Eng or Pr CPM registration.
Minimum 7 years in civil infrastructure design.
Proficiency in 2D/3D design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS, Bentley).

Responsibilities

Perform detailed design calculations and drawings for roads, earthworks, and stormwater.
Develop technical specifications, tender docs, and construction methodologies.
Use advanced modeling and design software to optimize project designs for efficiency and sustainability.
Conduct independent technical reviews and provide design support to site teams.
Ensure designs comply with national building codes, standards and environmental regs.
Collaborate with remote project managers, clients, and other discipline engineers via digital platforms.
