Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure design projects from within South Africa. You will design water, wastewater, storm drainage, roads and site developments, using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, while coordinating with virtual project teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of experience in civil infrastructure design, and a strong grasp of SA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Strong understanding of SA infrastructure standards and environmental considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for water supply networks, sewer systems, and stormwater management solutions.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrological modeling to support infrastructure design.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments remotely or with local site personnel.
• Ensure designs comply with national and municipal standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines through virtual channels.
