Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Civil Design Engineer to support nationwide infrastructure projects from a virtual office. This role focuses on detailed design, ensuring compliance with SA standards while working remotely with project teams.

You will develop road, drainage, and site grading designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software, prepare drawings and reports, and collaborate with clients and regulators through digital channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for virtual collaboration.
• Understanding of South African civil engineering standards and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for infrastructure projects including roads, drainage systems, and site grading.
• Utilize civil engineering software for drafting, modeling, and analysis, ensuring precision and efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings for tender and execution phases.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation of project cost estimates.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on design documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry best practices.
• Communicate effectively with remote project managers, clients, and consultants through virtual channels.
