Placements24 is seeking a Remote Child Protection Advocate to join its fully remote team. The role centers on safeguarding children’s rights and delivering advocacy to at‑risk youth across South Africa, with emphasis on Rustenburg via digital channels.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Child Psychology, Law, or related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant South African statutory body.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in child protection, advocacy, or social work.
• Experience delivering services remotely via video conferencing and digital tools.
• Strong understanding of South African child welfare legislation and frameworks.
• Excellent virtual communication, active listening, and advocacy skills.
• Proficiency with electronic case management systems.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
• High level of ethical conduct and commitment to confidentiality.
• A deep passion for child rights and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote risk assessments for children and families.
• Provide virtual advocacy and support services to children and their caregivers.
• Liaise with authorities and service providers via digital communication.
• Develop and maintain case management plans for children requiring protection services.
• Offer psycho-social support and guidance to children experiencing trauma or abuse.
• Educate families and communities about child protection laws and best practices online.
• Maintain accurate, confidential electronic records of all interventions and progress.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors on complex cases.
• Respond to urgent child protection concerns escalated through remote channels.
• Stay informed about legislative changes and best practices in child protection.
