Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Chemical Process Safety Engineer to support a global chemical operation from South Africa. You will conduct PHAs, develop safety management systems, and ensure adherence to international safety standards while collaborating with dispersed teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, at least five years in process safety, and strong virtual communication skills. CCPSC certification is highly advantageous for this remote position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related safety discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in chemical process safety engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience facilitating HAZOPs and PHAs.
• CCPSC certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA) remotely.
• Develop and maintain Process Safety Management systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; identify root causes.
• Provide technical guidance on process safety to teams.
• Deliver virtual process safety training and workshops.
