Placements24 is seeking a Remote Aviation Safety Officer to lead the organization's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) from anywhere in South Africa. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety processes, conduct risk assessments, and promote a proactive safety culture across functions.

The role requires deep knowledge of ICAO, EASA, FAA or SACAA standards, plus at least six years in aviation safety or risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Advanced certifications in Aviation Safety Management desirable.
• Minimum 6 years of aviation safety, SMS or risk management experience.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and manage the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning.
• Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for staff.
• Monitor compliance with national and international aviation regulations.
• Prepare regular safety reports for management and regulators.
• Promote proactive safety culture through communication and engagement.
• Maintain safety documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and procedures.
• Stay updated on emerging safety trends and best practices.
