Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Technical Writer to create clear, concise technical documentation for automotive products. This fully remote role requires collaboration with engineering, product management, and support teams to translate complex concepts into user manuals, guides, and online help.

You will ensure documentation meets style guides and regulatory requirements, manage lifecycle, review features, and contribute to a superior user experience by reducing support inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in automotive or complex technical products.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong grammar and style.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Experience with documentation tools and content management systems (e.g., MadCap Flare, Confluence, Git).
• Strong research skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain manuals, installation guides, service bulletins, and online help articles.
• Collaborate with SMEs across engineering, product development, and customer support to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
• Organize and structure complex technical information clearly for varied audiences.
• Ensure documentation adheres to brand style guides, branding standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the documentation lifecycle, including updates, revisions, and version control, using relevant tools.
• Review and test product features to ensure documentation reflects current functionality.
