Placements24 seeks an Assistant Financial Controller for a distinguished international firm that embraces innovation. This remote role supports the Financial Controller in financial management, reporting, and compliance from within South Africa.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background with GAAP/IFRS knowledge, 3–5 years of experience, and proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, SAP and advanced Excel.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA/ACCA/CIMA preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP or IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities for remote work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; supervisory experience advantageous.

Mansioni

• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Develop and maintain financial models and analyses.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
