Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Advocacy Lead for a fully remote role servicing South Africa. You will develop and execute strategic advocacy campaigns, conduct policy research, build coalitions, and engage with policymakers to influence national public policy.

Ideal candidates have substantial policy advocacy experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for social change. Remote work in SA with a competitive salary package is offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of policy advocacy/public affairs experience.
• Strong understanding of legislative processes and policy-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and coalition-building.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy strategies and campaigns.
• Research policy issues and assess social impact.
• Engage policymakers and government officials to influence public policy.
• Build coalitions with partner organizations and lead coalitions.
• Organize advocacy events, meetings and public campaigns.
• Create policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials.
• Mobilize public support through digital advocacy and media.
• Monitor policy developments and report outcomes.
• Work independently in a remote capacity and manage time effectively.
