Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Remote Adolescent Psychologist in South Africa to provide telehealth mental health services to teenagers. You will diagnose and treat adolescent disorders, conduct online assessments, and collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals to support well‑being.

The role requires a PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Adolescent Psychology, current SA license, at least 5 years post‑doctoral experience, and expert telehealth and EHR proficiency.

Qualifications

• PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Adolescent Psychology.
• Current valid licence to practise psychology in South Africa.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑doctoral experience working with adolescents.
• Proficient with telehealth platforms and EHRs.
• Strong ethical judgment and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adolescents.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence‑based modalities (CBT, DBT, family systems).
• Provide individual therapy sessions addressing anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, trauma, identity development.
• Facilitate virtual group therapy sessions for adolescents on relevant topics.
• Engage parents/guardians in the treatment process and provide guidance.
• Collaborate with schools, paediatricians and other professionals for coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and progress notes per standards.
• Stay current with research and telehealth advancements.
• Respond to crisis situations per established protocols.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development.
