Job summary

Tristar Tech Solutions in Cape Town, South Africa, is seeking a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join our MSP support team and serve UK clients remotely.

You'll escalate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues across desktops, servers, networks, and infrastructure while collaborating with the 1st line team and UK leadership. This role offers real technical ownership and a pathway toward 3rd line support.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in a 2nd line IT support role, preferably in an MSP environment
• Excellent command of written and verbal English
• Based in Cape Town, capable of remote work for UK clients
• Right to work in South Africa

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line technical support to UK clients via phone, email, and remote tools
• Diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, servers, networks, and peripherals remotely
• Escalate unresolved issues to 3rd line while ensuring timely resolution
• Remotely install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network components
• Participate in project work including upgrades, migrations, deployments
• Document all support activities, solutions, and configurations accurately
• Monitor client systems proactively to catch issues before they escalate
