Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an analytical Regional Transport Planner to optimize delivery routes and schedules for the Free State province. Based in Bloemfontein, you will collaborate with fleet managers, warehouses, and store personnel to achieve cost-effective, timely distribution.

Responsibilities include developing daily to monthly transport plans, using TMS software, and monitoring operations to drive efficiency. A relevant logistics qualification and 5+ years in the field are preferred.

Qualifications

5+ years in transport planning, logistics coordination, or supply chain management.
Proven experience with TMS or route optimization software.
Strong analytical and quantitative data interpretation skills.
Solid understanding of fleet management and distribution networks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly transport plans for the Free State region.
Create efficient delivery routes considering traffic, windows, and vehicle capacity.
Monitor operations in real time and adjust schedules as needed.
Analyze transport costs and identify cost-saving measures.
Collaborate with warehouses to ensure smooth loading and dispatch.
Engage with drivers and fleet managers to improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with transport regulations and policies.
Prepare performance reports on on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, and mileage.
Identify opportunities for network optimization and capacity planning.
Drive continuous improvement of transport operations and supply chain strategies.
