Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Transport Planner for our Pretoria, Gauteng hub. The role blends strategic planning from home with essential on-site coordination, driving efficient routes and schedules across a regional network.

You will collaborate with operations, warehousing, and customer service to optimize transport operations and meet delivery windows. A minimum of 3 years in transport planning and familiarity with TMS is preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years in transport planning or logistics coordination.
Experience with route planning and scheduling in Gauteng.
Knowledge of TMS and route optimization software.

Responsibilities

Plan and optimize daily transportation routes and schedules for a fleet of delivery vehicles.
Allocate loads to drivers and vehicles based on capacity, destination, and delivery timeframes.
Monitor vehicle movements and adherence to schedules, addressing deviations.
Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure timely loading and dispatch of goods.
Communicate with drivers regarding routes, instructions, and changes.
Analyze transportation costs and identify efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with road transport regulations and company safety policies.
Maintain records of transport activities, mileage, and fuel consumption.
Liaise with customer service to provide delivery status updates.
Support forecasting and capacity planning by the logistics team.
