Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to lead retail operations across multiple stores in Kempton Park. You will own the regional P&L, drive revenue growth, and ensure efficient staffing, stock control, and performance reporting.

The role requires a senior leader with proven P&L management, stock management expertise, and the ability to partner with HR, Finance and Marketing to deliver commercial results in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in multi-site retail management
• Proven track record managing P&L and driving commercial performance
• Strong stock management and inventory control knowledge
• Solid understanding of labour legislation (LRA, BCEA) and IR processes
• Experience in high-volume or complex retail environments
• Exposure to airport or concession-based retail environments is advantageous
• Strong systems knowledge (POS, reporting, inventory systems)
• Strong commercial acumen and assertive leadership

Responsibilities

• Own regional P&L, revenue, costs and margins
• Analyze store performance and identify revenue growth opportunities
• Drive sales performance and revenue per square meter
• Manage budgets including staffing, stock and costs
• Prepare and present monthly performance reports
• Oversee daily operations across multiple stores
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective action
• Ensure staffing levels in a 24/7 environment
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and standards
• Oversee stock control and shrinkage prevention
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Buying and Marketing
• Lead Store Managers and develop talent
• Support promotions and operational initiatives
• Address customer experience across all stores
• Maintain brand standards and visual merchandising
• Manage IR processes in line with labour legislation
