Placements24 is seeking a Regional Operations Manager for the Pretoria, Gauteng region to oversee a portfolio of fitness centers. This senior role requires a strategic, results-driven leader who can drive profitability, maintain brand standards, and foster a high-performance culture.

You will manage General Managers, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with sales and marketing to grow membership while ensuring exceptional member experiences across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of multi-unit operational management experience in fitness, health, or hospitality.
• Proven ability to grow revenue, manage P&Ls, and control costs across multiple sites.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with CRM and operational software; data-driven decision-maker.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding national chain of fitness and wellness centers, is looking for a strategic and results-oriented Regional Operations Manager to oversee multiple facilities within the Pretoria, Gauteng region. This senior role demands a leader with a passion for health and fitness, a strong business acumen, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence and financial performance across a portfolio of clubs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent brand standards, maximizing profitability, fostering positive team cultures, and enhancing member satisfaction. This Hybrid role allows for a blend of on-site oversight of facilities and strategic planning from a home office, offering flexibility while maintaining strong operational control in the Pretoria area.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the operations of multiple fitness and wellness centers within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with company goals and brand standards.


• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to drive revenue growth, control costs, and improve profitability for each facility.


• Oversee the performance of General Managers and their teams, providing guidance, support, and performance management.


• Ensure exceptional member experience, satisfaction, and retention rates across all locations.


• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to address underperformance and capitalize on opportunities.


• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational regulations.


• Lead initiatives for staff training, development, and retention to build high-performing teams.


• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support membership acquisition and retention strategies.


• Conduct regular site visits and operational audits to assess facility standards and identify areas for improvement.


• Manage regional budgets and ensure effective resource allocation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.


• Minimum of 7 years of multi-unit operational management experience, preferably within the fitness, health, or hospitality industries.


• Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, managing P&Ls, and controlling operational expenses in a multi-site environment.


• Strong understanding of fitness industry trends, operations, and best practices.


• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


• Proven ability to develop and motivate teams, fostering a positive and results-driven work culture.


• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metric tracking.


• Experience with CRM and operational management software.


• Ability to travel regularly within the region and occasionally nationally.


• Must be based in or willing to commute to the Pretoria, Gauteng region, with flexibility for remote work.
