The ideal candidate has extensive manufacturing finance experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with SAP/Oracle and ERP/BI tools. The position requires a CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent, a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, and at least 8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leading international manufacturing firm, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Regional Operations Controller to oversee financial operations and performance management across their South African facilities. Based in Benoni, Gauteng , this role requires a strategic financial mind with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations and cost control. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and ensuring operational efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in financial management within an industrial setting, coupled with strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with operational teams. This is a key position to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making within the region. You will play a crucial role in optimizing costs and improving overall operational financial health.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts for the region's manufacturing operations. Analyze financial performance, identify variances from budget, and implement corrective actions. Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and operational reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance. Provide financial insights and recommendations to operational management to support decision-making and drive profitability. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. Conduct financial reviews of operational processes to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations for senior management. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and accounting standards. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial reviews and audits.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) is highly preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial control or management, with a significant portion within the manufacturing or industrial sector. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Proven experience in financial reporting and compliance with IFRS or relevant accounting standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence operational teams. Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes and operational challenges in Gauteng is a significant advantage. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
