Placements24 is seeking an experienced Regional Fleet Coordinator to oversee and optimize fleet operations in the Pietermaritzburg area. The role combines on-site supervision at the depot with remote planning and reporting responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in fleet management, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in maintenance, safety, and cost control. A relevant degree and driving credentials are preferred, with a focus on efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and standard office applications.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills are required.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily fleet operations, including vehicle dispatch, route planning, and assignment of drivers.
• Oversee maintenance and repair schedules for all fleet vehicles to ensure uptime and safety.
• Monitor driver performance, conduct reviews, and provide coaching and training as needed.
• Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
• Manage fuel consumption and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance, mileage, and expenses.
• Conduct on-site inspections of vehicles and operations to ensure compliance and identify issues.
• Perform remote administrative tasks such as generating reports, analyzing fleet data, and managing budgets.
• Liaise with external vendors for repairs, parts procurement, and services.
• Respond to and manage fleet-related incidents or emergencies.
