Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Logistics Fleet Manager to oversee regional operations from the Centurion, Gauteng hub. You will manage a large vehicle fleet, optimize routes, and drive safety, efficiency, and service excellence across the South African market with a hybrid work setup.

You will lead drivers and support staff, leveraging logistics software and data analytics to cut costs, improve performance, and ensure compliance with SA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years in fleet management or logistics operations.
• Experience managing 50+ vehicles.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fleet management strategies to optimize costs and efficiency across the region.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and condition of the vehicle fleet, ensuring safety compliance.
• Manage driver schedules, performance, and conduct in line with policies and targets.
• Use logistics software and GPS tracking to monitor fleet movements and driver behavior.
• Analyze fleet data to identify improvements, cost reductions, and service enhancements.
• Ensure drivers possess necessary licenses, permits, and training for their roles.
• Implement and enforce HSE policies for fleet operations.
• Collaborate with procurement on vehicle acquisition, leasing, and disposal strategies.
• Manage relationships with third-party service providers such as maintenance shops and fuel card suppliers.
• Report fleet performance metrics to senior management regularly.
