Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Financial Controller for its regional hub in Upington, Northern Cape. The role entails steering all financial operations for the region, ensuring accuracy, compliance with IFRS, and delivering strategic insights to drive growth. A hybrid work model balances on-site leadership with remote execution.

The candidate should have extensive FP&A, budgeting, forecasting experience, and be proficient in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Leadership and governance are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.
• CA(SA) or equivalent qualification is required.
• At least 10 years in financial management/accounting, with 3–5 years in supervisory/controlling roles.
• Extensive IFRS, SA tax law, and governance knowledge.
• Experience in FP&A, budgeting and forecasting.
• Hybrid work environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all regional financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure IFRS compliance, tax regulations and governance policies.
• Oversee timely financial statements and management reports.
• Develop internal controls and financial policies to protect assets and data integrity.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with department heads and senior management.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities and banks.
• Provide strategic financial analysis to support business development and investments.
• Mentor regional finance team and drive performance culture.
• Drive process improvements and best practices in financial management.
• Oversee treasury and cash flow planning for the region.
