Job summary

Bongo Credit is building a regional branch network across South Africa to promote financial inclusion. The Regional New Site Developer will own site evaluation, landlord negotiations, and end-to-end branch openings, working closely with senior leadership.

The role requires 3–5+ years in retail site selection or branch network expansion, with strong field presence and market knowledge of township and CBD areas. A driver’s license and vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years’ experience in retail site selection, commercial property leasing, or branch network expansion.
• Strong negotiating skills with landlords and lease terms.
• Excellent knowledge of township, CBD and peri-urban trading environments.

Responsibilities

• Walk candidate locations to assess visibility and foot traffic.
• Manage site pipeline from shortlist to lease signature and handover.
• Negotiate lease terms and signage rights.
• Map competitor micro-lenders and local retail corridors.
• Manage landlord, agent and vendor relationships for branch openings.
• Control the regional budget for property acquisitions and approvals.
• Coordinate compliance and handover to fit-out and operations teams.
• Provide regular pipeline and market updates to senior leadership.
