The ideal candidate has a BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, at least 6 years of experience, and SACQSP registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Klerksdorp . This role is integral to managing all costs relating to construction and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget by controlling costs and maintaining the required quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong financial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final accounts.
• Advise on procurement strategies and manage tendering processes for contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor and control project expenditure, identifying and mitigating potential cost overruns.
• Administer contracts, process payments, and manage variations and claims effectively.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and assess the value of work completed.

Requirements

• BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Professional registration with SACQSP is advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in measurement software and cost management tools.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law and FIDIC or NEC contracts.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
