Job summary

ZEDA Limited in Johannesburg seeks a stock control and vehicle inspection assistant to support the de-fleeting process and inspect vehicles in the Avis Cars Sales region. You will coordinate with RAC Operations, update recon recoveries daily, and ensure correct allocation of stock to branches while maintaining safety outdoors.

Responsibilities include notifying managers of RFC needs, inspecting stock per standards, exchanging papers, and generating daily inspection reports for management.

Qualifications

• Matric and a valid driver’s license are essential.
• Code 14 license is advantageous (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Allocate stock to retail and trade branches and maintain service history/accident history records.
• Identify and notify manager of vehicles to be returned to Rent a Car (RFC’ed) within one working day.
• Inspect stock per de-fleeting standards (e.g. fair wear-and-tear).
• Inspect stock received from Avis Fleet and RAC.
• Request vehicle papers and spare keys from Fleet Control and Avis Fleet when applicable.
• Verify papers and spare keys, close RAC VTCs and open new ones to designated branches.
• Ensure accuracy of information uploaded to Traders Online App.
• Generate and distribute daily inspection reports to management.
• Provide ad hoc support to the branch (e.g. stock verifications, vehicle repairs).

Core purpose of the role

To support the de-fleeting process and inspect vehicles in the designated Avis Cars Sales region.

Key deliverables and outputs

Strategic/Financial

• Record recon recoveries on vehicles from RAC Operations and consolidate figures per vehicle
• Update the recon recoveries report daily.

Operational

• Ensure correct allocation of stock to retail and trade branches (e.g. service history and accident history)
• Identify and notify manager of any vehicles that need to be returned to Rent a Car (RFC’ed) within one working day
• Inspect stock presented from RAC in line with de-fleeting standards (e.g. fair wear-and-tear guide)
• Inspect stock received from Avis Fleet
• Where applicable, request vehicle papers and spare keys from Fleet Control and Avis Fleet
• Verify Papers and Spare Keys (PSKs), close RAC VTCs and open VTCs to the designated branches
• Ensure accuracy of information uploaded to the Traders Online App
• Generate and distribute daily inspection report to management
• Provide ad hoc support to the branch (e.g. weekly/monthly stock verifications, vehicle repairs) as required.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with Rent a Car Operations and Luxury Cars.

Essential:

• Matric
• Valid Driver’s License.

• Code 14 Driver’s License.

Note:

The role requires working outdoors and physical activity while Inspecting Vehicles.

Work Experience

Essential:

• Minimum 1-Year Previous Working Experience.

Advantageous:

• Previous Mechanical or Panel beating Experience
• Previous RAC/Avis Fleet/Dealership Experience
• Previous Automotive Industry Experience.
