Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a delivery/ Logistics support role in Gauteng. The candidate will be at the delivery point ahead of time, coordinate the unloading crew, and ensure documentation accuracy.

Strong communication with dispatch and depot controllers is essential to resolve delays and keep deliveries compliant. The role requires 2–3 years in logistics and quality system management, own transport with Code 10 license, and an active smartphone.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years logistics and quality system management experience required.
• Must have own transport and a valid Code 10 driver’s license.
• Own smartphone and good interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Be at the delivery point one hour before the booking slot.
• Ensure offloading crew arrive on time and in full, wearing uniform and complying with health and safety.
• Communicate with dispatch/depot controllers about vehicle whereabouts 30 minutes before slot.
• On arrival, verify invoice counts match consignments loaded.
• Adhere to delivery point rules and procedures at all times.
• Notify delays to dispatch/depot controllers to enable quick resolution.
• Offload and pack stock with due care and safeguard it at all times.
• No stock moves without your check; inform via scanner if in order or discrepancies.
• Record discrepancies in the company discrepancy document with full detail.
• Take photos of discrepancies and note root causes; share on delivery-point platform with photos.
• After crew finish, communicate hours spent to admin for monitoring.
• Safeguard returns and coordinate with another vehicle if needed to complete delivery.
• Retrieve all PODs/GRVs and discrepancy advices on the same day for processing.
• Manage corrective/preventive actions; assist Claims Supervisor/Loss Control in investigations.
• Maintain general housekeeping; build good relations with delivery-point management.
• Provide feedback to management on best practices from other transporters.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Make sure to be at the delivery point one hour before the booking slot
• Make sure that the offloading crew is at the delivery point on time, in full as per the order and dressed in full uniform and compliant to the health and safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with the dispatching depots controllers on the whereabouts of the vehicle should it not be at the delivery point 30 minutes before the booking slot.
• Upon arrival of the vehicle at the delivery point make sure that the amount of invoices match with the consignments loaded on the vehicle.
• Ensure adherence to the delivery point rules, regulations and procedures at all times
• Communicate delays to the dispatching depots controllers for them to action in an attempt to resolve efficiently.
• Make sure stock is offloaded and packed with due care
• Make sure to safeguard stock at all times.
• No stock may move before checked by yourself
• Make sure to advise the scanner at the delivery point if all is in order or if there are any discrepancies and not let he/she tell you
• Any discrepancy are to be recorded onto the company's discrepancy advise document detailed and in full
• Photos must be taken of any discrepancy and the root cause must be highlighted
• This must also be communicated on the delivery point specific communication platform along with photos send
• As soon and the crew is done, this must be communicated on the group in order for the admin office to monitor their hours and spend
• Returns must be safeguarded and communicated effectively till returned with the delivery vehicle or
• collected by another vehicle should the delivery vehicle not remain at the delivery point till completion of the delivery
• All PODs/GRVs and discrepancy advises are to be retrieved on the same day of the delivery from the delivery point and handed in at the company's depots, debriefing department for processing
• Management of corrective and preventive actions logged to ensure that they are being actioned and resolved
• Assist Claims Supervisor and or Loss Control to conduct investigations
• Carrying out general housekeeping within the work environment
• Build a good relationship with the delivery point management
• Communicate back to company management on ways other transporters do business and execute deliveries which might benefit the company and they follow same methodology
