Job summary

Flink Recruitment seeks a detail-driven logistics dispatcher in Gauteng to plan daily loads, schedule dispatches, and monitor carrier movements to ensure on-time deliveries.

You will generate planning reports on VTS, optimise load distribution, coordinate with fleet teams, and maintain accurate planning data while communicating changes to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics or related field advantageous but not essential.
• Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, fleet control, operations or similar environment advantageous but not prerequisite.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Daily load planning and dispatch scheduling.
• Monitor and track carrier and fleet movements to ensure on-time vehicle deliveries.
• Generate and maintain planning reports on VTS.
• Ensure all urgent and deadline vehicles are planned and dispatched timeously.
• Optimize load distribution, route utilization, and carrier capacity.
• Create and manage load manifests on VTS.
• Coordinate with Fleet Controllers, Account Executives, Yard Operations and other stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitor carrier readiness and ensure compliance with timelines and service levels.
• Update VTS with valid late delivery reasons and maintain planning information.
• Communicate dispatch plans and operational changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Execute dispatch plans and manage exceptions affecting delivery performance.
• Maintain real-time visibility of operational plans and carrier utilization.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

• Grade 12 / Matric
• A tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field will be advantageous, but is not essential.
• Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, fleet control, operations, or a similar environment will be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Exposure to Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS), transport management systems, or dispatch planning tools will be advantageous but is not required.
