Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Quality Control Manager for their Pretoria facility. The role drives quality assurance, ensures compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000 and GMP, and leads a QC team to uphold product integrity across all stages of production.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc in a related field, a Master’s degree is a plus, and has at least 6 years in food QC/QA with proven leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry) is required.
• Master’s degree is advantageous and preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of QC/QA experience in food manufacturing and team leadership.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain comprehensive quality control systems and procedures.
• Oversee testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP and local standards.
• Conduct audits of processes and facilities to identify quality gaps.
• Train and manage the QC team and drive performance improvements.
• Investigate complaints and non-conformities; implement CAPAs.
• Liaise with regulators and auditors during inspections and certifications.

Our client, a premier food production company, is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Quality Control Manager to lead their quality assurance initiatives at their facility in Pretoria, Gauteng . This vital role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards before reaching consumers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of food safety protocols, quality management systems, and be adept at leading and developing a quality control team. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control systems and procedures.


• Oversee all aspects of product testing, including raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and local health standards.


• Conduct regular audits of production processes and facilities to identify and address potential quality issues.


• Manage and train the quality control team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.


• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions.


• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during inspections and certifications.


• Monitor and analyze quality data, generating reports and recommendations for management.


• Collaborate with the production and R&D departments to improve product quality and consistency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.


• A Master's degree is a plus.


• Minimum of 6 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.


• Proven experience in managing a quality control team and implementing quality management systems (QMS).


• In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, etc.).


• Strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures and analytical methods relevant to food products.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.


• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.


• Experience with regulatory compliance and audit processes.


• Must be authorized to work in Pretoria, Gauteng .
