Job summary

KSB Company in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design pump systems and apply engineering principles across projects.

You will prepare BOMs, manage drawings, liaise with workshops, and support sales, production and procurement. Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Office 365 is essential. The role involves testing, troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• Matric/ N4 or equivalent / Diploma or BTech Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3-5 years’ relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with pump design and application.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, testing and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Create job packs with parts list, QC plans, assembly drawings and BOM docs.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and assess equipment in workshop.
• Engineer and modify Bills of Materials.
• Load materials and purchase items for pump projects on SAP.
• Liaise with drawing office, review and approve drawings.
• Supply data for Draughtsman and ensure drawings meet data sheet specs.
• Handle internal queries from Sales, Purchasing and Production and from customers.
• Ensure engineering of nonstandard BOMs for pumps and assemblies.
• Complete customer project documentation.
• Plan and schedule project work and perform design calculations.
• Update inventories and material master numbers.
• Conduct engineering research and simulations.
• Comply with KSB policies and assist calibration tasks.
• Carry out all other reasonable tasks as delegated.
