Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. in Cape Town seeks a dedicated shipboard housekeeping attendant to clean public areas, assist with event setups, and respond to guest requests.

You will maintain cleanliness of lounges, restrooms, corridors, monitor safety, and work as part of a crew to ensure smooth operations on board.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.
• Attention to detail and time management essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and pushing heavy equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all public areas, including hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and lounges.
• Vacuum, dust, and polish all surfaces in public areas.
• Empty trash and replace garbage bags as needed.
• Clean and restock restrooms with necessary supplies.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down public areas for events or activities.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking when necessary.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and healthy environment for guests and crew members.
• Work collaboratively with other crew members to ensure a seamless and efficient operation of the ship.
