Job summary

The Department of Health is seeking a reliable groundskeeper for Weskoppies Hospital in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have Grade 10 and basic horticultural knowledge, able to operate garden equipment, and perform strenuous duties when required.

You will be responsible for digging, weeding, mowing, cleaning premises, and maintenance of outdoor spaces, with adherence to supervisor instructions and safety regulations. Applicants should be prepared for physical work at a hospital site.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 10.
• Basic knowledge of Horticulture and equipment used.

Responsibilities

• Digging, de-weeding of garden and removal of grass heaps.
• Mowing of lawns and grass using lawnmowers and trimming machines.
• Clean premises by removing litter and emptying refuse containers.
• Rake grass clipping to ensure tidy and clean environment.
• Assist with cleaning of gutters when needed.
• Adhere to lawful instructions from supervisor.
• Check and report service of machinery and equipment.
• Sweep and clean the main roads, pavements and walkways.
• Cut dead trees and remove dead branches when required.
